Experiential dinner for Louis XIII Cognac (for their client First National Bank Private Clients) in sculptor and blacksmith, Conrad Hicks’ extraordinary forge at The Bijou, Cape Town.
I worked with Conrad and the team at Louis XIII Cognac to design the experience.
My objective was to enhance the flavours in the liquid and then bring them onto the table in a tangible form. And, using pieces of Conrads unbelievable art, edible and fynbos flowers and other design elements, style the table and some touch-point areas in the extraordinary space to showcase the 100 years in a hand-blown crystal bottle that is Louis XIII Cognac.
I asked Chef Bertus Basson to design the menu and he crafted a unique and unforgettable experience for the guests. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with him and his team.
